Statement: The League applauds the LA Times & Craig Nakano
Theatrical Producers League of Los Angeles applauds the Los Angeles Times and Craig Nakano for launching a new Friday column that summarizes a handful of theatre offerings in Los Angeles. On any given night hundreds of shows are playing here, produced locally and featuring local artists. It is vital that the media promotes local work and this newest tool will make an impact, helping the public find dynamic local theatre in their area.
Theatre coverage in Los Angeles has suffered some significant losses in recent years and it has become much more difficult for Los Angeles theatre producers, especially those working in the smaller houses, to reach larger audiences. The Theatrical Producers League of Los Angeles is working on developing more ways for producers to get the word out, and we thank the Los Angeles Times and Craig Nakano for bringing this fantastic idea to fruition.
